Request a quoteWe survey your home, install the heat pump and look after it afterwards. It connects to the heating you already have, with our electricians and plumbers working as one team. Across the UK and Europe.
We look at the property, the heating, the hot water and the electrical supply before we give you a written quote.
On request, our engineers carry out a room by room heat loss calculation and design the system around it, as a paid service.
The pipework, the cylinder, the electrical circuit and the board are part of the same job, with one contact.
Maintenance contracts with a digital report after every visit.
The outdoor unit takes heat from the outside air and passes it into your heating system. Inside, it connects to your radiators or underfloor heating and to a hot water cylinder, with its own electrical circuit.
Every home is different. These are the parts of the system we look at before we quote.
A heat pump usually runs at a lower water temperature than a gas boiler, often around 40 to 45°C. Some rooms may need a larger radiator to stay warm.
A heat pump stores hot water in a cylinder rather than heating it on demand. If you have a combi boiler, a cylinder is usually added.
We check the pipework to the radiators and set up the controls so the system runs steadily at a lower temperature.
The heat pump needs its own circuit. We check the supply and the board, and plan any upgrade with you.
We check the property, the heating, the hot water and the electrical supply.
We confirm what the installation involves, the price and the dates in writing.
Our electricians and plumbers install the heat pump, the cylinder and the connections.
We commission the system, set the controls and hand over the records.
We look after the heat pump afterwards, with a digital report after every visit.
Electricians and plumbers in one team means the heat pump, solar panels, a home battery and an EV charger can be planned around one electrical supply and one set of controls.
We look at the supply and the board once, for everything you want to connect.
A battery can store solar or off-peak energy for the heat pump and the car.
The charger is planned on the same supply, so the loads work together.
Heat pumps are usually serviced once a year. Our service visits cover the usual checks, outdoor unit, refrigerant circuit, system pressure, filters, water treatment, hot water cylinder and controls, and add the things a heating engineer alone cannot.
Often, yes. A heat pump usually runs at a lower water temperature than a gas boiler, often around 40 to 45°C, so some rooms may need a larger radiator to stay warm. We check this at the survey and tell you which radiators, if any, need to change.
In most homes, yes. A heat pump does not heat water on demand like a combi boiler, so hot water is stored in a cylinder. If you already have one, we check whether it suits a heat pump.
Yes. Heat pumps can heat a home through radiators or underfloor heating, and underfloor heating suits the lower water temperatures heat pumps run at.
Sometimes. A heat pump needs its own circuit, and some homes need changes to the consumer unit or the supply. We assess this at the survey and, if an upgrade is needed, plan it with you, including the notification to the network operator.
In England, most air source heat pumps on houses are permitted development, so planning permission is usually not needed. There are limits, and different rules apply to listed buildings, conservation areas and flats. Check with your local planning authority if you are unsure.
Usually not. Heat pumps work best running steadily at a lower temperature, with a slightly lower setting when you are out or asleep, rather than being switched off and on.
In cold, damp weather frost can form on the outdoor unit. The heat pump clears it with a short defrost cycle, and a little vapour is normal.
Both. We install heat pumps and we maintain them after installation, with maintenance contracts and a digital report after every visit.
Yes. We plan the heat pump, solar panels, battery and EV charger together, so they work as one system.
Yes. We start with an inspection visit, then look after the heat pump under a maintenance contract.
Yes. In England and Wales the Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 off an air source or ground source heat pump, £9,000 for homes off the gas grid replacing oil or LPG until 31 March 2027, and £2,500 for an air-to-air heat pump. The scheme is installer-led, so you cannot apply yourself. We arrange the application through our MCS certified partners in your area, and the grant comes off your quote upfront.
It depends on where you are. We confirm any survey cost when you contact us, before we book the visit.
Yes, on request and as a paid service. Our engineers calculate the heat loss room by room and design the system around it, so the heat pump and the radiators are sized for your home.
